Privacy Policy

Who we are

This quiz is operated by HowMedWorks, a brand created by Phoebe Kubo to help PA students succeed. Questions? Email privacy@howmedworks.com.

What we collect

• Email address (only if you submit the form). Submitting is optional. You can skip the gate and view your result without providing an email.
• Quiz answers and specialty match (anonymous). Stored server-side to improve the quiz and to generate your personalized AI insight.
• Browser metadata: user-agent string, referring URL, and UTM parameters if you arrived via a tracked link. Used only for aggregate analytics.

We do not collect your name, phone number, location, or any payment information. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts.

How your email is used

If you submit your email, it is used for two things:

1. Delivering your results to your inbox via Resend (our email delivery provider).
2. Recording your quiz completionin Kit (our email marketing platform), so we can tag your specialty match and let you unsubscribe at any time. If you check the newsletter box, we will also send you Phoebe's study-guide tips and occasional offers. Uncheck it or unsubscribe at any time.

Your email is never sold, rented, or traded to any third party.

Third-party processors

The following services may receive a subset of the data described above. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

• Supabase (database) stores quiz sessions and, when provided, email records. Data is hosted in the United States.
• Kit (email marketing, kit.com) receives your email address and specialty tag when you submit the form.
• Resend (email delivery, resend.com) receives your email address and quiz results in order to send you the results email.
• OpenAI (AI insights, openai.com) receives your quiz result dimensions (not your email) to generate a personalized insight paragraph. No personally identifying information is sent to OpenAI.

Data retention

Anonymous quiz sessions are retained indefinitely for product improvement. Email records are retained until you request deletion. To request deletion of your data, email privacy@howmedworks.com with the subject line “Data deletion request” and we will remove your record within 30 days.

Cookies and local storage

This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. We use browser local storage to save your quiz progress so you can resume if you refresh the page. This data stays on your device and is cleared when you restart the quiz.
